A properly cared for bird will make the mounting process easier and produce a much higher quality mount. Following is a list of helpful guidelines that the author has compiled over the last 40-years. They have been field-tested and proven to work. If you have chosen a nice trophy, these guidelines will assist you in delivering your prize to the BIRD STUFFER without doing further damage or possibly destroying your future mount.
!. The most important thing to remember is to keep your specimen wet and cool until you put it in the freezer. This not only keep surface blood wet, it prevents blood clots in the down feathers from drying out. A blood clot in the down feathers is like chewing gum in your wifes hair.
2. Freeze your specimen as soon as possible. Place the bird in a good quality garbage bag. Roll your
bird up mummy style to remove as much air as possible.
3. Call me to schedule a pick up time that meets your schedule. When I'm finished with your mount i will deliver it back to you at no additional charge.
DO NOT USE NEWSPAPER, WALMART BAGS OR PANTY HOSE.
